1. Who is responsible for your information

Score Stokvel Grocery and bereavement is the responsible party for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Stokvel Platform Systems (Pty) Ltd ("SPS") processes it on the stokvel's behalf as its operator, under a written agreement.

2. What we collect

• Name, email address, phone and WhatsApp numbers, and area where you live.
• Identity document and proof of residence, if the stokvel asks for them.
• Your payout bank details, stored encrypted.
• Payments, fines, loans, meeting attendance, apologies and votes.
• Sign-in records, IP addresses and the terms you accepted.

3. Why we use it

To run your membership: record payments, work out balances, interest and payouts, run meetings and votes, send you notices, and meet legal duties such as tax and anti-money-laundering record keeping.

4. Who sees it

• The stokvel's admins and approvers, as far as their role needs.
• SPS support staff, only when needed to fix a problem. SPS receives daily totals for billing, never your personal details.
• The stokvel's bank, its payment gateway (for example Ozow) and email provider, to process payments and send messages.

Your information is hosted in South Africa. It is not sold or used for advertising.

5. How long we keep it

Financial records are kept for at least five years after the transaction, as the law requires. Other information is deleted or anonymised when it is no longer needed.

6. Your rights

You may see the information held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to its use. Use My Data & Security on this site, or ask an admin. You may also complain to the Information Regulator: inforegulator.org.za.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed, bank details and keys are encrypted, sensitive changes need several approvals with one-time PINs, and every change is recorded in an audit log. If a security compromise affects you, you will be told as soon as reasonably possible.
